Caring for your wooden products

Indonesian Teak Furniture

The wood used for much of our furniture is reclaimed and therefore, by definition, very eco friendly. The old teak used has been sourced through recognised timber manufacturers. Due to the rapid expansion in Indonesia and the substantial building work across the country old style wooden houses are being replaced with more sanitary modern brick and tile buildings. There is a substantial amount of seasoned wood, which has a beautiful weathered appearance and is more durable, less likely to crack or shrink in climates in Europe and the UK. Our teak items are natural and require a certain amount of care and attention to keep the appearance as rustic and natural as possible.

Rusticity

Due the rustic nature of much of the wooden items we sell means that each has its own unique shape and bespoke appearance, colour and finish. Our rustic items are made and finished naturally and will differ in size and weight.

Caring for teak

Maintaining the appearance of teak is important and straightforward. Wiping over with a soft cloth is sufficient, however natural and tinted beeswax can be used to prolong the colour and to moisten the wood, small amounts of wax should be placed on the cloth and rubbed in, in circular movements. We do not recommend spray polishes.
