The owners, Lawrence and Melanie Cook, named the shop following a month spent in Khrabi, a very small island off the coast of Thailand.
The resort has a huge population of wild monkeys and whilst there we realised that due to the Tsunami the previous year, the monkey's habitat had been severely damaged. Lack of food and adequate shelter was a real problem. When trying to decide on a name for the business, Greedy Monkey seemed extremely apt.
We now sponsor the wild monkeys of Indonesia and have adopted a monkey called Oliver at The Monkey Sanctuary in Looe, to which they make donations from the profits of their business.
